MORE than 50 senior citizens from Bromyard went on a 'Warm and Well' coach trip to the Forest of Dean and Tintern Abbey last week.
The trip was organised to promote Age Concern's campaign to encourage older people to keep warm and well this winter.
The 57 pensioners enjoyed a door-to-door service and Age Concern gave free Warm and Well packs to everyone.
The packs contained educational leaflets, details of emergency helpline numbers, low energy light bulbs, packets of soup and room thermometers.
Age Concern's campaign, which is being promoted through posters, clubs, talks and information stands, aims to spread the message to older people in the Bromyard area.
The 2001 census showed that 26 per cent of the local community were over pensionable age and nine times the national average were over 75.
