CHILDREN at Burley Gate Primary are looking forward to going to school in a log cabin, which will house the pre-school department.
Building began on Tuesday and is scheduled to finish before February half-term.
The school was awarded a £86,194 lottery grant to fund the development and a series of fundraising events over the last two years has raised an additional £4,000.
Pre-school leader Sue Podmore praised the efforts of staff and parents.
"It's been hard work but we've had fun along the way," she said. "We're pleased our efforts are finally coming to fruition".
