Newent Arboretum can look forward to a rush of seasonal visitors now the trees are looking splendid in their autumn colours.
Arboretum spokesman Barry Wellington, of Elmcroft Nursery, said: "The field maples are looking particularly good now and for the ash and the oak, it's the start of their autumn colours."
Other trees, such as the rowans, have now lost most of their bright yellow leaves early and these are scattered on the ground.
But Mr Wellington believes that, with just a touch of frost, the best of the arboretum's colour show is still to come.
He said: "In a week or so, I think it will be at its peak."
Entrance to the arboretum is free, with access points off Watery Lane and Bradford's Lane.
The visitor attraction is open every day, during the hours of daylight.
