HEREFORD designer Emma Lewis and her millinery company Ulifas are celebrating one of their creations winning the best hat award at Uttoxeter Racecourse ladies' day event.
Glenda Taft bought the hat at the Spring Garden Show in Malvern earlier this year where Emma was exhibiting. Glenda was delighted at winning the competition and has gone to great lengths to track Emma down to give her the good news.
The hat was made from a cream and black polka dot sinamay twisted and curled into a spiral with black and cream feather trim, which was then attached to a fine Alice band. It was a one-off design so Glenda had no fears that there might have been someone else wearing the same hat!
Emma was delighted as it had been yet another busy year for designing hats, wedding and bridesmaids' dresses as well as guest outfits. She has also been relocating Ulifas to larger premises.
