A NEW Young Person's Guide to Elgar has been released at The Elgar Birthplace Museum.
Published by Elgar Editions for Elgar Foundation Enterprises Ltd, the guide has been put together with contributions from Cathy Sloan, Chris Bennett and Elizabeth Pimblett, Elgar Birthplace Museum staff, John Norris and Ann Vernau, members of the Elgar Society and local artist David Birtwhistle.
Tinted colour photographs and other drawings are scattered throughout the 32-page book with a helpful list of events in the composer's lifetime as well as a fun quiz.
The bold and clear text makes this uncomplicated publication a first-rate guide for young people to appreciate the importance of England's favourite composer.
Catherine Sloan, museum director, said: "For a number of years there has been a gap in the market and this excellent new book plugs that gap."
The guide is £3.50 available from the Elgar Birthplace Museum or by phone, letter or by the museum's website www.elgarmuseum.org for £4, including postage and packing.
