PROMISING young rider Alice Hurley is on the verge of international honours after being picked for the British Dressage Junior Squad.
Seventeen-year-old Hurley, a pupil at John Kyrle High School in Ross-on-Wye, has been enjoying a good season on her horse, the 17-hand gelding Solitaire Secret, owned by Kate Butling and stabled at Sellack.
A number of top-three finishes this season were crowned at Swallowfield recently when the pair achieved their best ever score in an advanced test with their 68% earning a second-place finish.
Then Hurley moved on to Hartpury where she finished fourth in a team test in an FEI event.
The pair, who train with David Pincus at Bartestree, will now move on to Addington for the Under-21 UK Summer Championships at the end of the month.
