PERFECT weather gave competitors the chance of good times at the Hereford Wheelers 25-mile time trial.
The new Leominster course has had to be used this season because of traffic lights on the Llangua Bridge on the Allensmore course.
Simon Geary achieved a new course record time of 1 hour 27 secs, beating the previous best set by Pete Murrieri by 34 secs.
Also on form, Jon Tetley came in second in a time of 1 hour 1 min and 37 secs.
Top five places: 1 Simon Geary 1.00.27, 2 Jon Tetley 1.01.37, 3 Phil Gwyn 1.02.29, 4 Chris Hughes 1.03.22, 5 Peter Ding 1.03.41.
The previous week riders competed in the 12th Wheelers' evening 10-mile time trial, held in very hot conditions at Allensmore.
The battle was won by Kevin Townsend, who rides for Climb on Bikes, in a time of 23.09 mins.
Top five places: 1 Kevin Townsend (Climb on Bikes) 23.09 mins, 2 Jon Tetley (Wheelers) 25.00, 3 Peter Ding (Ludlow) 25.14, 4 Chris Hughes 25.41, 5 Paul Tomkinson 25.59.
l Wheelers' next event is a 10-mile time trial on the Burley Gate course today (Thursday) at 7 pm.
