Ross B retain an outside chance of top spot in Group 5 of the Hereford & Worcester Summer League after a 4-0 success against promotion rivals Ludlow Castle.
Ludlow, who had beaten Ross on home territory earlier in the season, were no match for the two Ross pairings who both achieved straight sets victories.
Number one pairing Richard Powell and Jim Wilkinson were much too good for their opponents and romped home 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-3 while number two pair Colin Foster and Keith Ray were also comfortable winners 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2 as the home club clinched all five points.
The previous week, Ross went down 3-2 at Leominster whose number one pair enjoyed straight set wins. Wilkinson and Powell and Ray and Foster won their matches against the number two pairing but a games score of 38-37 earned the home side victory.
Ross must now return to Ludlow for their final match of the season when they taken on Ludlow Burway in search of a win to cap a memorable first season at this level.
Ross Ladies A enjoyed a 4-3 winning draw in their final match of the season at Barnt Green but it was a marathon encounter with four of the six matches going to three sets.
But all three Ross pairings achieved successes with Ann Fontbin and Ellie Vicary winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, Sarah Drake and Heather Peachey 6-4, 6-3 and Rosie Farr and Margaret Phillips 6-2, 6-1.
