Ledbury RFC have ended their search for a director of rugby by appointing Darrell Williams to the post.
Williams, aged 39, lives in the town and brings considerable experience to the post as an ex-player and as Ledbury's director of junior rugby.
The new position will aim to raise the playing standards of the senior side and forge closer links with the youth teams. Williams will work closely with coach Rob Collins to ensure that all senior sides have an opportunity for improvement.
"The role is mostly about putting a more formal structure in place and determining what the club's needs are to be more successful on the rugby field," said Williams.
"This involves working with the junior section to ensure that by the time that the youngest of our players reaches the senior level they are ready to make a smooth transition into senior rugby."
Williams, who sees player apathy as his biggest concern for the coming season, is looking to recruit a specialist forward coach to work on set pieces.
A production manager, Williams represented three clubs in the South Wales area, including Treherbert, and trained with Pontypridd on a number of occasions before injury ended his playing career.
