Weobley set about re-writing the Flint & Cook Marches League record book when they hammered hapless Bartestree & Lugwardine St Mary's by 366 runs in a Division 7 encounter on Saturday.

Paul Williams led the charge for Weobley, smiting 22 sixes and 27 fours as he rattled up a remarkable 282, forming the cornerstone of the villagers' massive 493-7 from their 45 overs at Bartestree.

Disheartened Bartestree, who came out on top by seven wickets when the sides met earlier in the season, subsided to 127 all out in reply with Mark Turner returning 8-30.

Division 6 promotion hopefuls Kington 4th suffered a surprise reverse against Bishops Frome when they went down by just eight runs.

An opening stand of 97 between Julian Wheeler (55) and Terry Haigh (34) set up the villagers' total of 190-7 and an easy win seemed on the cards when Kington subsided to 47-8.

An eighth-wicket stand of 125 between Edward Price (72) and Mike Pudney (55) carried the town side to the brink of victory before the last two wickets fell in quick succession.

Sixteen-year-old Joe Provis played a leading role for Hay as they defeated title-chasing Lads Club by 143 runs in Division 5.

Provis carried his bat for an unbeaten 98 as Hay, with Johnny Daw (48) and Charles Alexander (57) also batting well, reached 236-3. The young all-rounder then destroyed the Lads Club batting with a spell of 5-6 as the city club subsided to 83 all out.

Mark Powell (38) was the highest of eight Strollers batsmen in double figures as the Division 5 leaders eased home by 47 runs against Almeley, for whom R Williams made 54 before being forced to retire hurt.

Bosbury continue to be hot favourites to win the Division 4 title after an eight-wicket win over Knighton, but Presteigne continue to press the east Herefordshire side in their bid for honours after James Bray's 60 helped the border club to a three-wicket success against Bartestree & Lugwardine 2nd.

Kington 3rd got back to winning ways at the top of Division 3 with a five-wicket success against Moccas with David Morgan (80) and Jim Lewis (48) leading the way.

Dennis Malley (61) led the way as in-form Goodrich 2nd continued their run of success with a five-wicket win over Colwall 3rd.

Wormelow 2nd's Andrew Davies, with 53 and 3-12, starred with bat and ball as the villagers came away from Talgarth 2nd with a 103-run win.

The Division 2 top-of-the-table clash went in favour of Crickhowell who saw off visiting Bartestree & Lugwardine by 115 runs.

Geraint Bowers (98), Paul Cornock (84) and Ben Morgan (50) all cracked half-centuries as the Welshmen posted a formidable 323-7, a total well beyond Bartestree despite Dean Smith's 65.

Leominster's bid to regain the Division 1 place they lost last season is gathering pace after an 86-run win at Woolhope.

A sixth-wicket stand of 90 between Russell Palmer (54) and Dale Withers (30) underpinned the town side's 235-8 and then, despite 74 not out from W Green, the villagers were restricted to 149-6.

Revitalised Hereford City, meanwhile, continued their climb up the table when they saw off fancied Monmouth 2nd by 36 runs.

David Scott (42) and Jangam (42) batted well as Hereford racked up 198 but with Ian Morgan (59) batting well, the Welshmen's victory bid was shaping up nicely at 127-3.

Spinner Sanjay Hadapi (5-45) got to work for Hereford, however, and with Jamie Williams (2-38) lending useful support, the last seven Monmouth wickets went down for just 35 runs.

Gerald Morgan (74) and A Mead (66) batted well for Builth Wells who rattled up 268-8 to beat Shobdon by 123 runs.
