ON April 16 at Knighton Community Centre, at 7.30pm, Knighton Silver Band are presenting their Spring Concert, under the direction of their conductor David Wilson, with the Much Wenlock Male Voice Choir and the Junior Band.
The senior band is to welcome back Mel Rowe to the trombone section after a spell with her family in Ammanford. Mel a gifted musician, played with the North Powys Youth Brass and with Knighton Town Silver Band prior to moving to South Wales, but now she's back!
The Junior Band goes from strength to strength, thanks to the enthusiastic leadership of Judith Phillips and the vital dedicated assistance of tutors Val Owens, Ann Williams, Lynn Rowlands and Peter Thomas. Recently, the Juniors made a sound recording on tape of several band pieces with Jane Milward's piano accompaniment for the soloists.
