YOUNG people have been given a platform to stand up and be heard.

'Sit Down, Shut Up and Listen' is a mini-conference by The Rural Media Company at which issues will be explored through exciting and innovative media projects.

From the humorous to the heartbreaking, the reassuring to the controversial, art and debate will combine for the event at the Courtyard on April 17, 6-9pm.

Youth and community workers, policy officers, teachers, health professionals and young people are encouraged to attend.

Guest speakers include Brigid McConville, author of 'The State They're In - Young People in Britain Today', and Rank Foundation youth director Charlie Harris.

The conference is free but advance booking is essential for the screening and debate. Contact Vicky Harris on 01432 344039 or e-mail: info@ruralmedia.co.uk
