MONMOUTH farmers Mike and Mary Farmer of Old Trecastle Farm, Llangovan, have been recognised for their animal welfare and care for the environment, winning the Unigate award for five consecutive years.
They have maintained the highest standards of management, milk production, animal welfare and care for the environment set in the UK. They scored highly on Superior Stockmanship, Unigate's dairy farm assurance scheme, to qualify for the cow statuette, a reminder of winning a Unigate Quality Milk Award.
