GLORIOUS sunshine greeted racegoers on the Victor Chandler sponsored day at Hereford races and Kidderminster trainer Martin Evans continued his good run by taking the Handicap Chase with Kibby Bank, writes Graham Saveker.
Bought out of Howard Johnson's yard for 3,200 gns at the Doncaster Sales, Kibby Bank responded well to jockey Gary Lyons and the pair recorded a length and a half victory over The Campdonian.
Evans, who won over £200,000 last year in the Racing Post Ten to Follow competition, confirmed that this was his fifth success of the season and the winner could go for a race at Weatherby on the May Bank Holiday.
There was an Irish victory at Hereford when Mr Carrigann took the Maiden hurdle in the competent hands of Henry Oliver by 20 lengths.
The winner is set to join the yard of Chaddesley Corbett handler Martin Tate but was allowed to remain in the yard of County Clare trainer Donal Hassett while Tate found a suitable race in this country for him to make his debut.
