A PLAN to change the use of Ross-on-Wye's old post office into a JD Wetherspoon bar has met with strong objections from the town council.
Members expressed concerns over the proposals for the Gloucester Road site on Monday.
The council believes the development would have a detrimental effect on the local 'character pubs', while 'inadequate policing' in the town 'may cause difficulties' were the application to be granted. It was also felt that traffic hold-ups might occur at delivery times.
The proposal will go before Herefordshire Council planners.
