A LAUNCH in Much Marcle on Saturday will be the official starting point for Much Marcle to shape its future development.
Planning applications affecting the parish will be influenced by the village's Design Statement, newly endorsed by the Herefordshire Council.
The statement describes the characteristic features of the area and gives design guidance so that any changes reflect the original elements.
Significant
Parish council chairman David Adams said: "This is an excellent piece of work which will be of significant value in influencing future development.
"We want to maintain the characteristic features of our parish for future generations to enjoy and the Design Statement will certainly help us to do so."
Twenty residents have been involved in the project, which has taken almost two-and-a-half years to complete. It has been supported by the Herefordshire Council Parks and Countryside Service and had financial backing from Rural Action, the parish council,Herefordshire Council and H Weston and Sons.
