WYE Valley Rotary Club is collecting books to stock libraries in developing countries.

In suuport of the in support of the Book Aid 2000 Project, the volumes must be under 10 years old and in good condition in categories that range from adult fiction to world history - reference books, atlases, dictionaries, legal and medical text books.

"Don't forget your spare work or hobby manuals whether they are for electrical, motor engineering, craft or metal work," said a spokesman.

Book Aid International will find good homes for books throughout the libraries, schools and colleges of more than 40 developing countries.

Wye Valley Rotarians are scattered throughout Herefordshire, so readers can arrange for a nearby Rotarian to collect your books. Alternatively, there will be book collection point at Carvers, 44 Bridge Street, Hereford. The Rotary Club will then make sure all books are delivered to the London warehouse of Book Aid International prior to export.
