LEOMINSTER smashed home eight goals in two games to take command of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Division 1 and head the table by nine points from Hinton.

A mid-week 5-2 win against Leintwardine Colts, courtesy of a Daniel Rocke hat-trick and a Steve Evans brace, was followed by a 3-0 victory over Dorstone United. Evans again bagged a double and Adie Bennett completed the scoring.

They have two games in hand over the second-placed Hinton and a win against Woofferton Reserves today would almost guarantee the title.

Division 2 is a closer affair as, despite holding a seven-point lead, top team Holme Lacy have played three more games than their two nearest rivals, Kington Colts and Painters.

Holme Lacy put seven past Ewyas Harold Reserves to cement pole position but Kington went one better with an 8-0 rout of Bosbury and Painters also triumphed to keep up the chase.

Orleton look favourites to take the Division 3 crown and, at 12 points clear, need just one more point to ensure they cannot be caught by second-placed Tupsley Colts.
