HEREFORDSHIRE jockey Richard Johnson had no luck at Aintree in his quest to add the Grand National to his recent Cheltenham Gold Cup success as he had to pull up his mount Star Traveller.
Star Traveller, trained at Ludlow by Henry Daly, disputed the lead for some time before pulling up lame after jumping the fifth-last fence.
County-owned Kingdom Of Shade, trained by Venetia Williams at Kings Caple, was always off the pace and eventually finished 16th of the 17 finishers.
