COMMUNITY COUNCIL - At the recent meeting of Llangunllo Community Council, two members reported on a meeting regarding the European Grant Objective 2. A representative from Knighton had asked if Llangunllo wanted to send a member to join the Knighton discussion group. The idea was welcomed by the council but, with four members absent, it was decided to wait until the next full meeting. Further representation was to be made to County Hall about the need for crash barriers and road markings. Members had reservations about a plan to erect a dwelling and garage on land near Lady Meadow, Bleddfa, but eventually endorsed the application. Bills for grass cutting at Llangunllo and Bleddfa had been settled. Mr A Thomas had donated his cheque to Bleddfa Millennium Fund and Mr S Power his to the Air Ambulance. No applications had been received for the vacancy of a Bleddfa councillor. Millennium mugs would be available in Llangunllo community shop this month.
