MOTHERING SUNDAY - There was a large congregation for the 9.30am Mothering Sunday service, which was also family communion. The epistle was read by the headmaster of Lea School, Mr Howard. The schoolchildren sang songs and gave cards to the mothers. Prayers were led by schoolchildren, and the Rev. T Alban Jones, in his address, spoke about Mothering Sunday and its origin. After the service, coffee and cakes made by staff and children of the school were served.
