COMMUNITY CENTRE - Knucklas Community Centre is holding its annual meeting on May 15 at 7pm.
ST GEORGE'S DAY - Representatives of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders attended a St George's Day celebration at Newbridge-on-Wye parish church. The Scouts marched to church and presented their flags on the chancel steps. George Davies carried the Cub Scout flag and Emma Martin the new Scout flag. Sian Meredudd led the service and the Rev. Philip David gave the address. Afterwards, the Scouts ate their packed lunches in the youth centre and each section then took part in its own programme of activities. The Scouts did a survival exercise in the woods. The Cub Scouts did cooking, mini sports and a observation walk, and the Beavers covered apples with chocolate, and did games with a parachute.
BEAVERS - Knucklas Beavers completed their recent programme with a bingo evening in aid of Asthma Campaign and Seven Stop Challenge. They raised £27. Beavers, parents and friends attended an enjoyable evening at which there were lots of prizes.
CUBS - A visit to Knighton Fire Station was well attended. The firemen gave a good welcome and did a training incident showing the rescue of a cat. The Cubs and Akela were allowed to use the hose pipe.
