Ten youngsters from John Masefield High School launched a bid for their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards by taking part in a camping weekend at Symonds Yat.
The party of Year Nine teenagers was taken to the beauty spot last weekend by police sergeant Bob Wilson, Ledbury Youth First worker Andy Preedy, Coun and Mrs Spencer Lane and teachers Fiona Hind and Phil Preston.
Sgt Wilson said: "It was superb and we had wonderful weather. They were a good group who were keen to learn and enjoy themselves."
Another Duke of Edinburgh Award trip is being planned to Llangorse Lake, in Wales, in July.
