Ledbury are through to the quarter finals of the Dymock Knock-out Cup after a thrilling victory over defending champions Goodrich.

LEDBURY v GOODRICH

Ledbury batted first but lost an early wicket when Jamie Bullock was run out after a mix up with David Taylor.

Taylor then began a fine captain's innings, ably supported by Maurice Embrey, the score raced along and there was simply no way to bowl to Taylor as he began to bludgeon the Goodrich attack to all parts of the Ledbury ground, the pair put on 100 runs, whereupon Taylor fell for an amazing 87 (five 4's, seven 6's). Maurice Embrey scored 23 and with a final rush of wickets at the end in the search for quick runs Ledbury closed on 122-6 from the 20 overs.

Goodrich lost an early wicket R Friend falling for four caught by Charles Tager off the bowling of Mark Wadley. A Brown and M Evans repaired the damage with Brown playing some fine shots. The introduction of Mark Pritchett though turned the game Ledbury's way as he first held onto a smart caught and bowled to dismiss Brown for 38, and when Embrey had Evans caught behind by Bullock, Ledbury were back in the game.

Pritchett then went on a one man demolition job of the Goodrich batting claiming three further wickets to finish with 4-122 and perpetrating two brilliant run outs as Goodrich lost their last seven wickets for only 36 runs as they collapsed to 110 all out to leave Ledbury victorious by 12 runs after a thrilling game.
