THE Eastnor season of dismal batting continued at Brockhampton on Saturday in this WCL Division Two match, Eastnor losing convincingly by nine wickets.

EASTNOR v BROCKHAMPTON

Electing to bat Nick Bollen and Keith Fortey steadily put on 15 runs for Eastnor in eight overs before Fortey was caught by Aston. Bollen and Malcolm Barnes, in his first match of the season, followed just eight runs later to the first of two wickets to fall to the ever present Roy Wargen.

Steve Emery top scored for Eastnor, with 17 runs as Wargen continued to take out the visitors. Ten runs from Jim Sandford took the middle order to 58-7 on his departure before a spirited 16 from Dave Entwistle and a dogged 40 minute nought not out from Gary Watkins saw Eastnor finally all out for a meagre 75 in the 43rd over.

Eastnor's only bowling success was opener Newton lbw to Entwistle at 38 in the 11th over, whilst the remainder of the day belonged to O Hewlett, who hit one 6 and nine 4's in his unbeaten 60. Brockhampton romping home in the 18th over.
