ANOTHER low scoring match for Eastnor 3rds in this Hereford Times H & DCL Division Three match, Eastnor going down by five wickets and falling down from pole position which they had held briefly.

EASTNOR 3RD XI v TALGARTH 3RD XI

Put in to bat the visitors began cautiously after losing Holmes in the second over. Matt Panter again batted on solidly whilst Neil Davies gave support to 18 in the eighth over when Davies fell to Fraser.

Dean Vicarage again began a one-man crusade for his batting side hitting a strong 40 (one 6 & four 4's) and with Panter took the total on to 51 when Panter was caught.

Young S Williams (4-14) then produced an excellent spell of swing bowling to reduce the villagers to 69-8 in the next ten overs. Mike Jarrett (8) gave the tail a quick wag but 82 was the final total.

Good bowling from Rod and Mike Jarrett kept the Talgarth openers at bay, with Rod Jarrett clean bowling Reid Owen at 17. Then a hard hit 33 by M Lewis began to seal the visitors' fate. Despite three wickets from skipper Taylor, and some good fielding by the Eastnor side, Fraser (14no) finally saw Talgarth home in the 30th over.
