A BRILLIANT young musician and scholar is celebrating outstanding exam results at Hereford Cathedral School.
Peter White, of Nantyderry, near Abergavenny, was awarded a music scholarship to the school aged 11. Now he is celebrating 10 A* and one A grade at GCSE.
The 16-year-old has already passed grade VIII on the violin and grade V with distinction on the organ.
The school has awarded Peter an academic scholarship into the Sixth Form where he will study maths, further maths, chemistry and physics at A-level.
Peter, who recently played violin with the English Symphony Orchestra, sings in the Cathedral School's male voice choir, is a valued member of the army section of the school's Combined Cadet Force and is a single sculler in the Boat Club.
He was also one of the pioneers of the Cathedral School's concessionary rail fare scheme on Wales and West trains, used by 69 pupils.
