A NEW industrial estate will 'enhance an important approach into Hereford city', county planners were told.
Three new units will be erected on the old 'Camden Rover' site on Holmer Road after the central area committee gave the green light to the scheme.
A tile supplier, hire car business and tyre and exhaust firm are all interested in the site.
Some councillors expressed their concern over increased traffic on the A49 but were reassured that plans would be drawn up to ensure the minimum of disruption.
Trees will also be planted on the grass bank adjacent to the site to make it more attractive for motorists heading south.
The previous tenant was on the site for several years before their closure last year. The boarded up building is to be demolished to make way for the new development, which should be finished by next year.
The scheme was given unanimous approval.
