Kington Town 5 Star 2

ATTACKING wing-back Andy Clarke registered a hat-trick as Kington scored five goals for the fourth time in their last five Banks's Brewery West Midlands League Premier Division games.

Although pleased that his team is finding their scoring touch, manager Mick Panniers is concerned that they are still conceding too many goals.

They went a goal down after 15 minutes as they struggled to adapt to their new 4-4-2 formation but soon recovered to slam home three goals in eight minutes.

Danny Hill broke down the right and crossed to the far post for the supporting Clarke to fire home an unstoppable volley.

A superb eight-man move ended with Roy Jordan squaring the ball for Scott Jackson to give Kington the lead, and then Jordan robbed a defender of the ball before deftly lobbing the goalkeeper. Clarke bagged his second when he again combined with Hill just before the break.

Star reduced arrears three minutes after the interval when they punished a push in the box with a successful penalty. Kington regained control, however, and Clarke claimed a deserved hat-trick when he slotted home a late penalty after Chris King's surge into the box was halted by a scything tackle from behind.
