THE Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat is a 'very good school' and deserves its reputation, says its Ofsted report.
Pupils achieve well and make good progress with GCSE results, well above the national average. The quality of teaching was recognised and the leadership and management across the school were commended.
The pupils are seen as the central focus of the school; their achievement is constantly and consistently fostered. They are commended for having a caring community that strives to work in partnership with parents and listen to their concerns carefully.
The pupils are generally very well motivated and have a good attitude to learning. It is a school with high standards that places priority on the on-going professional development of all staff and its own continuing improvement. Also noted was the excellent range of extra-curricular activities available.
The report did say however, where appropriate, in encouraging pupils with special educational needs to work alongside their peers. And the flexible use of SE needs support staff across the school.
