A HEREFORDSHIRE charity that trains and recruits volunteers to provide short term breaks for carers is this week celebrating after being awarded a £10,000 grant.
The funding from the Nationwide Foundation and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation means Ross-on-Wye-based 'Take A Break' will now be able to establish a base in Leominster.
Manager Jill Jones, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for all concerned and Take a Break would be happy to come and talk with any group or organisation about its work. For example, we are looking for a volunteer to accompany a young man to the pub for a game of snooker, and also someone to go fishing with a disabled angler - their carers then can take time out for themselves."
