A Leominster school is raising funds for much needed improvements to parking facilities - and its nurse is taking to the skies to help.

Leominster Infants school received substantial funding from the Local Education Authority but has been asked to contribute £7,500 by the summer.

A number of events have been arranged over the next few months to generate the money needed.

The first one takes place on March 10, which will see the school's nursery nurse, Naomi Harris, make a sponsored parachute jump. Other events include a quiz night, a school disco and a sponsored bounce.

Di Castle, chairman of Leominster Infants school PTA said: "The emphasis is, of course, strongly on getting sponsorship. To this end, we have written to local companies in and around Leominster in the hope that they will be able to donate something or even supply goods that can be sold to raise funds.

"If any person/company feel that they would like to make a donation, please can they get in touch with the head teacher at the Infants school direct."
