A MAN who has spent a good part of his career promoting new recruits to the army is standing down.
Warrant Officer Eddy Rundle is retiring as manager of the Army Careers Office in Hereford's Commercial Road after almost 15 years in the post.
Mr Rundle, who lives at Redhill, joined the army just before his 16th birthday and has been with the forces for 40 years, serving all over the world, including America, Northern Ireland, Germany and Hong Kong. He served 22 years with the 15th/19th King's Royal Hussars.
He said he will be sad to leave his job, but at the age of 55 accepts that his days with the service must come to an end. But he does not propose to be idle, already looking at new challenges to take on.
