CALLING all tea drinkers in Herefordshire, writes ELIZABETH WATKINS.

Organise a few extra 'cuppas' next month and help Marie Curie nurses.

The caring charity wants to turn the month of March into a giant tea party to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Its nurses provide 'hands on' care for terminally ill cancer patients in their own homes and the more money they have the more care they can offer.

Precious gift

Local appeals officer David Rees said one of the most precious gifts a person, or group, could give was just a little of their time to hold a Daffodil Tea Party.

The daffodil is the emblem of Marie Curie - symbolising Spring and hope for people with cancer.

Mr Rees said just £9.50 paid for one hour of professional home nursing and he was appealing for volunteers to raise some of the cash either with just a modest tea drinking get-together or by organising a 'cuppa' party in a village hall or community centre.

Tea party packs are available, together with more information, by phoning David Rees at the Marie Curie Herefordshire and Shropshire appeals office on 01905 425780.
