LUCTONIANS' Alex Davidson helped North Midlands into the semi-finals of the Tetley's Under-20 County Cham-pionship with a 33-16 win over Cheshire at Moseley's Bournbrook ground.
North Midlands now have a difficult home draw against Northern group winners Yorkshire on either April 28 or 29.
Their win over Cheshire was not as comfortable as the scoreline suggests and they had to soak up a lot of pressure from Chesh-ire, particularly early and late in the game.
Lock-forward Davidson was drafted into the back row.
North Midlands skipper Stephen Nutt scored a try, kicked three conversions, and landed three conversions, two in the second half under pressure.
