Bromyard Town's hopes of completing their Banks's Brewery West Midlands League programme this season have been thrown into doubt for a second time.

After the outbreak of foot and mouth, Bromyard declared a self-imposed ban on their matches so they have been out of action since March 5.

Last week, however, they announced that they would resume fixtures subject to all the necessary precautions being in place and were due to entertain Brierley Hill Town on Easter Monday.

But confirmation of an outbreak of foot and mouth on a farm less than half a mile from the club's Delahay Meadow ground this week means that they have suspended any resumption of fixtures until at least the end of April.

Bromyard secretary Tony Haverfield said: "We took the decision after lengthy consultation with MAFF, the HFA and our league secretary.

"We have 14 more league games to complete. So, the league secretary will consult with his management committee to clarify the position as to whether we will be able to complete our fixtures - all of which will be subject to no further outbreaks in our area."
