ON Sunday, April 15 the Chase Hotel, Ross-on-Wye is the venue for the annual Easter Craft Fair. Craftsmen and women from all over the region will be exhibiting their handcrafted goods.
Alongside top quality local crafts, visitors to the fair will be able to see footstools and hobbyhorses from Gloucestershire, whimsical cut-outs and woodturning from Devon, crystal glaze pottery from South Wales, and flavoured honeys from Worcestershire.
"There promises to be something for everyone," said organiser Kevin Murphy. "From decorated eggs to knitwear, from glass painting to dolls' clothes, from waistcoats to miniature stone walls, there will be an amazing variety of crafts on display."
One of the highlights of the fair is expected to be the work of Robi Mandley from Longtown. Using the wool from her own goats Robi produces a surprisingly wide range of mohair goods, including socks, hats, rugs and blankets.
Another craftworker who always attracts a lot of interest is Barrie Place from South Wales, who has developed his own unique way of applying ornate, antique-effect designs to China. Barrie also offers a wide range of goods from a small cup to a complete dinner service designed especially for the customer.
Soft furnishings, satin and lace goods, children's clothes, silk flowers, crochet, prints, bowties, knitted toys, pressed flowers, hand-painted pebbles and personalised cards are among the dozens of exhibits.
Refreshments will be available throughout the fair which will open to the public from 10am-5pm. There is free car parking.
