Hereford United Director of Football Graham Turner is still not committing himself to a permanent move for defender Paul Sturgess.
The former Charlton and Millwall player should play in tomorrow's home Nationwide Conference clash with Kettering Town (3.00), having impressed in the midweek 1-1 draw with Nuneaton.
But Turner is not looking beyond the initial agreement for Sturgess to stay at Edgar Street for a month.
He said: "He did OK the other night. He is with us for a month for the present time, and there is a possibility of something more if he does well."
Skipper Ian Wright (neck) and striker Steve Piearce (hamstring) are United's main injury doubts, but Turner believes both will be fit.
Front man Paul Fewings is ruled out with a groin strain suffered against Nuneaton.
Piearce grabbed his first competitive goal against Nuneaton, and Turner is delighted with his progress after missing most of pre-season through injury. He said: "He has shown a lot of determination in getting his goal as he was being held by a defender -- it was a good goal."
Turner believes Kettering, last season's Conference runners-up, will provide a good test of his side's improved form.
"They have improved on their side from last season but we have as well. Our performance on Monday was a big improvement, and if we can maintain that improvement, it should be a good game.
"It was quite an entertaining game against Nuneaton, but we have to convert that entertainment into three points now."
