Hereford United Director of Football Graham Turner is delighted his side have been paired with Forest Green Rovers in the semi-finals of the FA Umbro Trophy.

The Bulls will visit their Nationwide Conference rivals in the first leg on Saturday, March 31, with the return at Edgar Street a week later.

Hereford will fancy their chances of getting through to the final for the first time, which will be held at Villa Park on May 13, and Turner believes both games will attract bumper crowds.

He said: "I think it is a good draw for us, and it is for Forest Green as well. It is convenient for our supporters to travel to and they should have a full house at their ground, and we could expect a crowd in excess of 5,000 for the second leg."

But although the Gloucestershire side are currently 19th in the table, Turner is not underestimating them.

He added: "You only have to look through their list of players.

"They are struggling in the league but come the Trophy, it doesn't mean a thing. They have players like Tony Daley, Chris Burns and former Hereford striker Adrian Foster which will all add a bit of spice."

Forest Green, who are jointly managed by former Bulls defender David Norton and ex-Aston Villa goalkeeper Nigel Spink, lost 3-1 in a league match at Edgar Street last November.

Ryman League giant-killers Canvey Island will play Chester City in the other semi-final, with the first leg in Essex.
