A MAJOR Police investigation is underway after a woman was found with serious head injuries at a house in Kinton, near Leintwardine, on Friday.

The police investigation involves more than 50 officers working at the scene of the incident and at a fully computerised incident room in Hereford.

The woman was taken by Air Ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

"Attacks of this nature are extremely rare in Herefordshire and this is why we have a large amount of officers working on the case," said Detective Superintendent Mark Howard who appealed for anyone who was in the Kinton area early on Friday morning and saw or heard anything unusual to call Hereford Police Station on 01432 276422.
