COUNTY dressage rider Alice Hurley clinched a double first at a training and competition weekend at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire.
Thirteen-year-old Hurley, a pupil at John Kyrle High School, Ross-on-Wye, achieved success on Pendley Mayday at the Under-21 UK competition.
Hurley scored 72.8 per cent in elementary 41 and 70.8 per cent in elementary 44 on the 18-year-old horse, earning her qualification for the Winter Championships at Add-ington Manor next year.
Hurley also tasted success the previous week when she secured first and third place finishes in two elementary competitions of an Under-21 UK event in Radway, Warwickshire.
l Adam Brown finished 10th at the Dengie Pony Club Winter League Show Jumping Championship in Warwickshire.
Brown, who lives in Ledbury, achieved the respectable placing on his pony, Lucky Lips, at Moreton Morrell.
Fourteen-year-old Brown, a member of Malvern Pony Club, competed in the final against 70 other riders.
