Hinton 1 Ludlow Town Res 1

HINTON dominated the game but only salvaged a point in the West Midlands League Division 1 South with a late goal from substitute Mitch Davidson.

They gave one of their best team performances in general play but were let down by their finishing.

Hinton penned Ludlow in their half with a series of well co-ordinated attacks but they clearly missed the previous week's hat-trick hero Tim Thomas, who was out with a hamstring strain.

They should have taken an interval lead with a penalty after striker Luke Semple was bundled off the ball as he was about to shoot. But the normally reliable Darren Birch drove the spot-kick wide.

It was much the same after the interval but Ludlow took the lead against the run of play when a striker intercepted a weak back pass from Darren Prew to slot the ball home.

The outstanding Peter Lamb set up a deserved equaliser with only minutes to go. The Ludlow goalkeeper could only parry a fierce Lamb drive into the path of substitute Davidson, who made no mistake from close range.
