Blue Peter was Eastnor Castle for a live Halloween broadcast on Wednesday.

The BBC crew brought with them a host of witches, ghosts and ghouls, not to mention Harry Potter's wicked adversaries Draco, Crabbe and Goyle.

The Georgian stately home was chosen because of its atmospheric location and its resemblance to the Gothic Hogwarts School, where Harry Potter is educated.

The castle's latest TV appearance follows the successful filming of The Antiques Roadshow there last year.

Blue Peter presenters Simon Thomas, Matt Baker and Liz Barker shared the set with characters from the first Harry Potter movie, The Philosopher's Stone, which will be on general release this month.

Castle spokesman Francesca Chick said: "It was fantastic. By 5pm it was dark and spooky. Kids small and large had a great time!"
