FLY half Pier Gaunt's 22 point haul failed to stop Bromyard sliding to their second successive North Midland One defeat.
YARDLEY & DISTRICT 27pts, BROMYARD 22 pts
Bromyard made a slow start and found themselves 14-0 behind after only ten minutes.
The Herefordshire club responded with a penalty from Gaunt and the fly half then scored a try shortly before the interval and also kicked the conversion.
Yardley landed a penalty on the stroke of half time to give the Birmingham outfit a 17-10 lead but Bromyard fought back strongly in the second half and drew level when Gaunt crashed over for a converted try.
Yardley regained their advantage in the closing minutes of the game with a converted try before Gaunt ensured a tight finish with his third try which cut the deficit to 24-22.
Yardley, however, held firm and rounded off the scoring with a drop goal.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Bromyard play a re-arranged league game when they welcome Bishop's Castle, 2.30pm kick-off.
