NEWENT were horrified as Lydney stormed past strong defence players Susie Burton and Jane Price to take the lead within minutes of the start.

Newent were then quick to attack back, constructive accurate passes from midfield players Ann Birch and Elaine Turner provided the forwards with excellent domination over Lydney before Amie Stack equalised with a powerful strike off a penalty corner.
Lydney took the lead again with another goal, but not for long, excellent solid tackles from Hayley Walding and Helen Birch during the second half kept Newent strong and it was Ann Timmeny who scored the next goal for Newent.
With minutes to go impressive saves from Trish Blewitt, Newent's goalkeeper were important but Lydney scored again leaving Newent under pressure.
With just seconds to go Newent were still determined and it was Charlotte Pool-Graham who saved the day with a final goal for Newent.
