WONDERING what the furtive scribbling and shrieks of laughter were all about at the Bridge Inn and the Pandy Inn in Eskleyside on Friday nights during October? Well, all will be revealed on Saturday, November 17, at the Crown Inn, Longtown.

A cast of familiar faces will bring to life the stories created at script workshops, organised by the Rural Media Company, who are making a film about local people and events in the area.

Said Clive Dale: "I was attracted to go to one of their meetings; workshops they call them.

"As a farmer, a workshop is somewhere you are confined to when the tack breaks down, but farming hasn't exactly been a hoot these last 12 months, so why not try something new?"

See for yourself at the Crown Inn at 9pm. Drink, laugh and cry with like-minded souls about life in the countryside, DEFRA, and the state of the universe. If you go early, you might get a part. If you miss it altogether, you can join in the next stage, which is to turn it into a film.
