Westons'new Cider Museum is now the proud owner of the biggest collection of cider and perry bottles in the UK.

The gathering of old, new and curious bottles has been donated to the Much Marcle firm on permanent loan from Ian and Gill Horsley of the Brandy Wharf Cider Centre in Lincolnshire.

The Horsleys began their collection by keeping an example bottle of every cider and perry they sold at the Brandy Wharf, and soon visitors were bringing in bottles from throughout the UK and abroad.

When the number of bottles reached 700, they decided to donate it to the Westons Cider Museum, which was opened three months ago, in a converted Shire Horse Stables.

The bottles will be officially welcomed into the Museum at a special public unveiling on Tuesday (November 13), from 12.30pm.

The Cider Museum, which houses traditional farm machinery, cider-making equipment and memorabilia, is open daily to visitors, free of charge.
