Bromyard entertained Bishops Castle in a re-arranged North Midlands One game on Saturday when both sides kickers were certainly off form.

BROMYARD RFC 3pts, BISHOPS CASTLE 3pts

In a tight uninspiring game the home side took the lead in the first half when Piers Gaunt kicked a penalty and they led 3-0 at half time.

In the second half Bishops fly half Mark Wilcox also landed a penalty in the 65th minute to make it 3-all and that's how the score stayed.

Both kickers had a day they will want to forget and several good penalty chances were missed by both sides.

Bromyard's Tom Edwards made a fine debut on the wing, making a try-saving tackle and impressing in his general play.

Bromyard face league leaders Edwardians at home tomorrow (Saturday) and then visit Redditch the following Saturday.

Bromyard's Second XV enjoyed a 17-12 success over Luctonians IV's.

Bromyard's scorers were Roger Dixon, who scored two tries and converted one, and a try from Richard Harrison.
