MADAM, You only have to look on the back page of The Hereford Times (March 14) to see why the pool got the chop.
The council leader wants Hereford to have a super sports and leisure centre - never mind Leominster need their now non-existent leisure facilities replacing.
Hereford has a pool and leisure centre that is perfectly useable, we now have next to nothing and I suppose their attitude is: 'You are the weakest link - Goodbye Leominster'.
Surely a decision of this magnitude should have been put before a council with opponents allowed the same time? I suppose staff were not allowed to comment under threat of dismissal if they made their feelings known - so much for free speech.
I thought councillors were elected by the people for the people and to ensure the people who supply the finances were not totally ignored.
JOHN BURFORD,
