TWO Hereford women celebrated the Jubilee in fine style after they were picked from millions to attend the Queen's classical concert at Buckingham Palace on Saturday.
June Smith never dreamed she would be picked for the event when she phoned up and left her details to 'have a go'.
It was a beautiful day when Mrs Smith and her friend, Joyce Eales set off on their royal adventure.
The concert was fantastic, said Mrs Smith, and she couldn't believe what a wide range of people there were all wearing different clothing.
The pair also managed to get a sneak preview of Monday's events, when they saw their favourite Tom Jones rehearsing for his big moment.
Mrs Smith said: "I feel like I have won the lottery - I am not normally a lucky person."
Mrs Smith's life vividly remembers the Coronation in 1953.
Her father was one of the first people in the street to own a television and all the neighbours popped in to watch the big event.
She said: "I keep having to pinch myself at the moment and asking myself was I really there?"
